In Herat, a bomb went off a mosque. Eight were killed, including an exiled Islamic scholar, and twenty were wounded. The dead Sunni scholar, Maulvi Mohammad Musa, fled from a Shiite town in Iran. It is thought that Musa's death was the result of his religious disputes with Shiites in Iran.
